SHOPPING
For grocery and basics, we recommend the IGA Boiceville Market
in Boiceville, 5 miles east on Route 28 (if you're coming
from the NYS Throughway (87), you'll pass it on the way).
If you just need beverages, snacks, charcoal, etc., the gas
station or Phoenicia Supermarket might do the trick, take
a right onto Rt. 28, go a half mile, make a left at the eagle
statue and follow Main Street.
Shopping is available at a few spots in town, like the fabulous
Mystery
Spot Antiques, Tenderland
Home, the Nest
Egg, and Morne Imports, and
also in Woodstock, approximately 20 minutes away. Take a right
onto Rt. 28, a left onto Rt. 212 in Mt. Tremper (at 3 miles)
and follow for 13 miles.
Kingston offers everything else you might need. 25 miles on
Rt. 28 heading east. Follow signs to downtown for boutiques
and small shops, for department stores and superstores (Sears,
Filenes, Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart) take Route 209 towards
the Rhinecliff Bridge (becomes Route 199) and take the Kingston
exit for 9W.
